This is a short interview (very short) with Anna Hall, who I believe will be the next global star in the multi-events. I am looking forward to seeing Anna Hall compete with the best in the world.

On February 16, 2023, at the 2023 USATF Indoor Championships, Anna Hall set a new American record for the pentathlon.

Anna Hall is a tremendously talented athlete who works hard and is very competitive. After her bronze medal in the World Champs last summer, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, the greatest women’s multi-eventer of all time, told me that Anna Hall has what it takes to be on the global podium in the multi-events.

At the USATF Indoor Champs, Anna hall ran 8.04 for the 60-meter hurdles, a big PB (was 8.17).

In the high jump, her weakest event, Anna scored another PB with her clearance of 1.91 meters (6’3.25″). That gave her 2,239 points after two events.

In event three, the shot put, Anna Hall threw 13.80 meters, 43’5″, giving her 3,020 points.

In the fourth event, the long jump, Hall leaped 6.34 meters / 20’9.75″, giving Anna 3,975 points after four events.

She only needed a 2:19.55 to get the American record.

Anna Hall used went to hyper speed and ran a 2:05.70, breaking the AR by 190 points and just ten points off the then WR (5014), with her new American record of 5,004 points.

Nathalie Uhl of USATF asked the questions from RunBlogRun of the new record holder.

We did hear that Anna Hall asked her agent, Paul Doyle, if he could schedule another pentathlon during the season. Mr. Doyle suggested that she focus on the heptathlon.  (On the weekend, Anna Hall also won the 400 meters with a PB of 51.04!).

We will see Anna Hall on the road to Budapest this spring and summer!
