Arms Race Nutrition Foundation Bar is a new cereal bar from Julian Smith and team with 18 grams of protein and delicious cereal flavored crunch!
These bars aren’t meant to be sugar-free, cardboard like facsimiles of dessert. They do have sugar, and they taste like something you’d actually choose to eat as a guilty pleasure – just with a nice helping of protein to boost your macros. Frankly, it works.
- The 18g of protein comes from a combination of whey protein crisps, pea protein crisps, milk protein isolate, and collagen peptides, providing a very well-rounded protein profile. The crisps carry the majority of the load here, though, and we’re pumped to see one of the coolest forms of protein get its due while adding a lot when it comes to texture.
- The yogurt coating on the bars provides the majority of the carbs by way of sucrose (real sugar), with the rest of the sugars coming from the rainbow sprinkles and a dash of vegetable glycerine.
- The fats in the Foundation Bars are pretty clean – coming mostly from saturated sources like palm kernel oil and coconut oil.

The perfect sweet snack at incredible prices
Over a year out from the original release of Foundation Bars, it’s safe to say that they’ve been massively popular. There are a ton of protein bars on the market, but the vast majority of them still don’t live up to the true dessert-style feel they’re going for. With the protein, it’s extremely difficult to get the texture just right, and the flavor always feels slightly off.
This is certainly not the case with Foundation Bars. Without the packaging, it’d be difficult to tell the bars apart from dessert snack bars that taste divine, yet leave a lot to be desired in the way of nutrition. As ARN has shown, it turns out that you can have your cake and eat it too.
