The summer transfer window is well and truly hotting up with deals and bids landing left, right and centre for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. The Gunners are fighting Manchester City for Declan Rice but the Premier League champions have seen their opening offer for the England midfielder rejected by West Ham. Rice’s price tag remains £100million, with the Gunners preparing a third bid.
Jurrien Timber is another player Arsenal are bidding for while Chelsea are pushing to land Moises Caicedo, with Nicolas Jackson’s deal in the bag and an announcement imminent. Kai Havertz’s switch from Chelsea to Arsenal is also not far off after he completed a medical over the weekend, while the Blues are keen on Gunners wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri and a shock swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic.
Elsewhere, Tottenham are set to confirm the signing of new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison has agreed personal terms. Manchester United may be out of the race for Harry Kane but Bayern Munich remain interested, though Spurs have responded firmly to talk of a £60m bid. Man United withdraw De Gea offer
David de Gea agreed a new deal and signed a new contract, only for Manchester United to withdraw that and then offer an even lower salary.
The Athletic report that the initial offer was for a significant reduction on De Gea’s current £375,000-a-week deal, one that the Spaniard agreed but the club did not sign.
United instead returned with an offer that would need the goalkeeper to take a further pay cut, and he is yet to agree to this.
Real open to Valverde sale
Real Madrid are willing to sell Federico Valverde to Liverpool for £77million.
The Reds have been linked in recent weeks with the midfielder, who faces a somewhat uncertain future after the big-money arrival of Jude Bellingham.
El Nacional report that Real are open to selling Valverde and have informed Liverpool of his price tag, as they look to free up room for a move for Kylian Mbappe.
Kane reaches Bayern agreement
Harry Kane has reportedly reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to join the German side this summer.
BILD claim that Kane’s father and brother have been negotiating with Bayern, and have now agreed personal terms.
Now just the small matter of agreeing a fee with Tottenham…
Lingard open to Saudi move
Jesse Lingard is on the market this summer, after leaving Nottingham Forest.
He’s available as a free agent and has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, rumours he did not shut down when asked.
Vigouroux joins Burnley
Burnley have completed the signing of Leyton Orient goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.
The former Chile U20 international leaves Brisbane Road after three years, winning the Player of the Year award for three consecutive seasons.
Despite playing a key role in their promotion to League One, the 29-year-old moves to Turf Moor to link up with Vincent Kompany’s newly-promoted side.
Vigouroux is the second of their summer signings after Republic of Ireland international Dara O’Shea joined from West Bromwich Albion.
Kane gives Bayern encouragement
Harry Kane is open to making the move to Bayern Munich this summer.
That’s according to the Mail, who report that breaking the Premier League goalscoring record is not a deciding factor in Kane’s thinking.
However, Tottenham have no plans to sell their striker, particularly for the £60m that Bayern have reportedly bid.
Rabiot set to stay at Juventus
Adrien Rabiot is now expected to sign a new contract to keep him at Juventus.
The Frenchman’s current deal in Turin expires at the end of the month, with reports linking him with a free transfer to Manchester United.
However, Fabrizio Romano reports that Rabiot has accepted the offer of a fresh contract from Juventus, putting to bed any talk of him leaving the club this summer.
Firmino set for Saudi move
Roberto Firmino is on the verge of sealing a free transfer to Al-Ahli.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, the Brazilian will sign a three-year deal with the Saudi Arabian side, one that will see him earn €20m a season.
Firmino’s eight-year spell as a Liverpool is coming to an end this summer, with it announced earlier this year that he would be leaving when his contract expires.
Koulibaly: I want to feel wanted
Kalidou Koulibaly has fired a parting shot at former club Chelsea.
After an underwhelming stint with the Blues, the Senegal international sealed a £17m move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.
A £33m signing made during Thomas Tuchel’s game in charge, he struggled to translate his previous form into the Premier League.
“I had no guarantees to get regular playing time [at Chelsea],” Koulibaly told Corriere dello Sport.
“I prefer a place where I am wanted and at the centre of the project and can be an example for young players. The Premier League is fantastic and there are great players.”
Loftus-Cheek agreement reached
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s move to AC Milan is set to be confirmed, after Chelsea reached a final agreement with the Italian side.
The Athletic report that the Blues will receive £15m plus add-ons for the midfielder, who will line up with former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori in Milan.
It’s believed Loftus-Cheek will sign a four-year deal, with personal terms already agreed.
