One could say that Josette & Robby Andrews have become “THE American Running Couple!”
Here are 5 quick questions for the ON husband/wife dynamic duo!
RunBlogRun, 1) How is both of your training coming along & where are you based out of right now?
“We are based out of Boulder, Colorado where we moved to at the beginning of the year. Josette has had a nice transition to her new coach and training program with the On Athletics Club, where she is quickly adapting to the altitude and new strength training program. Robby recently suffered from plantar fasciitis but has been able to begin jogging again.”
RunBlogRun, 2) What do both of your Outdoor track racing schedules look like at this point?
“Josette opened up her outdoor campaign with a new meet record in the 1500m at the Penn Relays, running 4:04.88, and a week later set a new World Leading 5000m time at the On Track Fest hosted by Sound Running with her 14:43.36. She plans on running the mile at the Oslo Diamond League meeting on June 15th and the US Championships in July. Robby hopes to return to racing later this summer.”
RunBlogRun, 3) Any specific events you’d both like to try and qualify for at the World Championships?
“Right now, Josette has World Championship qualifying marks in both the 1500m and the 5000m, which leaves her with the option for either or both. Josette and her coach will decide closer to the US Championships!”
RunBlogRun, 4) What keeps you both motivated?
“Setting goals and chasing after them is the biggest motivator for both of us; the bigger the goal the bigger the motivation. Finding out how fast you can run and how well you can compete is a feeling unlike any other and drives both of us to be our best”
RunBlogRun, 5) What advice can you both give to young runners?
“For younger runners, our advice is to be patient with yourself, this sport is different for everyone, and the timeline is not universal. Work hard and trust yourself; by following those simple mantras, you are bound to find success.”
